The mountains are killing me.
The last couple of days have been very interesting, we walked up to the cruz de ferro, it was very dissapointing, it has become very commercerlized with tours showing up. I did climb to the top of the rock pile for a picture and read some of the stories posted and looked at some of the pictures and it made me sad at the many reasons people come here and the tragedies they are trying to overcome. On the way up the hill we did have to move to one side of the path to let the cows go by, that was scary and cool. I went to Vespers in a church with a priest and monks, it was very moving and a bit relaxing. The church itself looked like it was going to fall down on us. We passed through Ponferrada which is known for the Knights Templars and visited the castle, Jeff got to dress up in chainmail and play with a sword: after that we carried on to Villa franka de bierzo. so far this has been the hardest thing i have ever done kind of like giving birth no matter how many books or movies you watch nothing prepares you for the journey. It can be emotional as well as physically challenging there is so many people hurt and having to quit. I may be slow and had to take a bus because of injury but at least i keep going. see you all soon, Buen camino.
