The home stretch
Well this will be my last post on the camino, i have checked in to my last albergue, had my last communal shower in the municipal albergue, i will not be hand washing anymore clothes and cant wait for a bath tommorow. The last few days have been tough with rainy weather but still being scorching hot. We have walked near, beside and through cows on the road, wait till you see the video, have smelled stuff the last week that will last forever. ate great food, bad food, and everything in between. We have climbed mountains, walked over rivers and autopistas, seen starving animals and unusual plants. Walked through, eucalyptis , chestnut and almond forests. Along the way we have made great new friends and people we try to avoid but just keep showing up, snorers, talkers, feet fixers, story tellers, religious and non and of course the naked italians in bathroom. Trying to remeber all of the trip is hard the days blend into one and everyone have camino brain, no one can remeber where they were yesterday and the grapevine here is amazing, labelled the camino radio, camino gossip, it was amazing what you hear. There were quiet days when you got to think about life what is it all about and am i on the right path, should i be doing something else, am I happy that sort of thing, then there ard days when the crowd takes over and all you can think is I want to be alone again. There are parts of the walk that look like a fairytale and then we walk along the highway, the scene changes so quickly.
Well we will be leaving early tomorrow to get into Santiago with our mate who has been with us for about a week now and we will meet a few people who have arrived today for a big dinner and party with lots of Sangria.
It has been a pleasure sharing my journey with you an dhope hou enjoyed it so far. When i return i will post pictures with notes about them, so stayed turned.
