So, how important ARE your feet???
In 2013 my husband and I walked about 650 Km’s, we still argue about the exact distance but I am rounding up, it seemed much further. But on the trip we learned exactly how important it is to take care of your feet. Blisters, cuts and just plain pain from walking all day are the hot topics of conversation at the hostel each evening, how do you take care of blisters, break them, thread them, cover them up or leave them alone, personally I am a fan of the threading.
So after this long walk we both came back with sore feet and figured that with some time they would heal, I mean my toenails grew back:). But it has been a year and we both have foot problems that won’t go away and are dealing with potential surgery, so yes your feet are the most important on any walk and you should take care of them.
As I look ahead to our climb in Peru I think, well its only 4 days, straight up hill, but this time more than ever I plan to have the best shoes possible along with some orthopeadic insoles.
I think travelling by train may be in our future.
