Semi adventurous travel and the all inclusive resort are a great pair. The resort we are at this week is perfect for those looking to start a semi adventurous travel life. The Occidental Destination at Xcaret is our home for the week and so far have not been disappointed. The travel time from the airport to the resort is only about an hour but it seemed faster as the bus guides will be giving you information along the way.
Smooth check in, time for some lunch before our rooms were ready and time to show our family members around the resort since this is the second time we have have been here.
Day one consisted of me recovering from a night of no sleep, some drugs to calm me as I flew and little food so it was an early night for dinner in the wonderful steakhouse, Senora Grill and then off to bed. If you have any questions about the resort or Mexico shoot them my way.
The beach is man made. They have cut a little bay out of the hard rock coast line and it has a lovely sand bottom. The fact it was sheltered means it almost never closed due to high waves. There were a few times the red flag was up for snorkeling out past the wall and everything was find for us to swim. There were also lots of loungers and beach beds for us to use on tiered rows. That was a nice touch.
The “Adults Only” salt water pool.
The staff actually enforced the Adults only rule. It’s one of the few times we have seen this at a resort.
The rooms were clean and modern. It’s hard to see from the photo but there are USB ports on each side of the bed. There was both A/C and ceiling fans. We prefer to use the fans over the A/C units. It doesn’t make it so much of a shock when we go back outside.
Thanks for sharing our trip with you. Please drop us a line if you have any questions of comments.
