Leon is a city of population 130,000. We spent very little time here (like most places) but I liked the energy of the Cathedral plaza.  We had a quick bite to eat here before we had to go searching for some warmer clothing as we were getting later into September and had left our sweaters behind weeks ago.  We came back to the plaza 3 or 4 times and toured it just before midday siesta. At some point I will post a nighttime photo we took just before heading back to our hotel.

This was by far my favourite Cathedral.  Burgos was huge and complicated and Santiago de Compestela was overwhelming.  This had a simpleness about it inside.  Clean lines and delicate heights. at least to me.  There was also a museum like courtyard in the center that had spires and statues from many other churches that no longer existed.  Very interesting.  They also had the handheld devices that explained the various rooms and building features of the inside. Great help to a weary who was in no mood to read a bunch of signs.

Adios for another day.
