Getting ready for Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu Re-Post

Today we are preparing for our next big adventure, Machu Picchu. My husband, Jeff and I are on our way to Peru tomorrow to climb the Inka Trail. The trail goes so high we have to take anti altitude medicine.

Machu Picchu here we come!

Our adventure begins with a small time change in our flight. We now leave 30 minutes earlier and spend 30 minutes longer in New York, bad for Jeff yeah for me. I hear there is some good shopping in that airport. Then off we go to make one more stop in Lima before proceeding straight to Cusco.

So today we finish packing, drop the dog at her very first kennel stay (so worried).  But our pet will be at Holly’s Pride which is owned by a friend and one that we trust. By the way, if you’re using a kennel for your pets while you travel I would love to hear about it.

And then we have to try and get all our luggage organized. Packing and unpacking then re-packing – I’ll do this about ten times. Oh and also according to my Facebook friends cleaning the house before we go is a must! It’s just going to get dirty again, why worry!

Final Machu Picchu Check List

  1. Passport
  2. Backpack inside my suitcase
  3. Flight itinerary
  4. Tavel clothes ready
  5. Hotel confirmation
  6. Airport pick up confirmed
  7. Medications packed
  8. Camera-ready, a zillion camera cards
  9. Say adios to daughter for 3 weeks

I plan to post as much as possible but the WiFi is spotty at best on the side of a mountain. So the posts may be a few days late but hope you all enjoy the pictures and my tales of the Inca Trail.
