Days 5 and 6

By on September 8, 2013

Day 5:it has been tough going were to start, easy my left baby toe which is so blistered i have pain shooting up my leg.  But we carry on because as they say you must suffer on the camino. Day 5 saw us go from Viana to Lorgrono it was another sleep in day and we finnally got moving about 8 am which on the camino is super late.there seems to be a time during the day whwere we are alone on the walk and it is weird being in the country side all by ourselves and only relying on spray painted arrows on rocks to show us the way. we made it to Logrono by 11:30 am today early enough that the municipal albergue wasn’t open yetso of course tapas it is. we checked in to the albergue and really should have looked at the rooms first because they were packed so tight that i could reach in any direction and touch someones head.

Day 6: Logrono to Ventosa 19.7km

last night we said good bye to a friend Sara from italy and francesca. we finnally got and early start this morning and headed out about 6:45 am it was a slow start but walked for 5,7km before we stopped.  Again more uphill i swear all of Spain is up, everytown is at the top of a hill. this was an easier day and we checked into a decent albergue and got a good night sleep. Ventosa is a smalltown with only one cafeso that is where we ate, one of these days we will cook our own meal in the albergue.

Buen camino everyone and thanks for reading and comments your encouragement gives me strength.

I believe that the walking should be enough suffering to satisfy a pilgrimage. The hills are overkill!!
